Dario Mitidieri
Lost Family Portraits

Dario’s latest project ‘Lost Family Portraits’ is a hard-hitting series commissioned by M&C Saatchi and UK based charity CAFOD.
Dario photographed the families living in the refugee camps of the Lebanon Bekaa Valley – situated on the Syrian border.
The Syrian conflict has been going on for longer than the First World War. More than 250,000 people have died and more than four million people have fled Syria into neighbouring countries, and are now living in truly dire conditions. This series gives a powerful reminder of the devastating effects of war – with the empty chairs and unfilled arms symbolizing the loved ones lost.

The full portrait series is now live on CAFOD website.
