Dario Mitidieri

Lost Family Portraits

Dario’s latest project ‘Lost Family Portraits’ is a hard-hitting series commissioned by M&C Saatchi and UK based charity CAFOD. Dario photographed the families living in the refugee camps of the Lebanon Bekaa Valley, situated on the Syrian border. The Syrian conflict has been ongoing for longer than the First World War. More than 250,000 people have died and more than four million have fled Syria into neighbouring countries. This series gives a powerful reminder of the devastating effects of war - with the empty chairs and unfilled arms symbolizing the loved ones lost. The full portrait series can now be found on the CAFOD website.
