Japan - 居眠り
Invited by Fujifilm to tour the Sendai factory, where the incredible range of GFX medium format cameras is manufactured, Nicky's recent trip to Japan provided an exciting opportunity to shoot some new personal work.
Inspired by the capital’s late-night eateries and the characterful people who dine (and nap) within them, Nicky explored the fascinating streets of Tokyo with his camera. Taking a candid and observational approach, Nicky’s beautiful series shows the exhausted subjects in a post-dinner slumber. Known as ‘inemuri' or being present while asleep, napping in public serves as a quiet symbol for working hard and giving it your all.
