An inclusive community group for people interested in skateboarding, Queer Skate South Wales offers a safer space in the Cardiff area for LGBTQ+ skaters to meet, practice, and have fun. Will’s latest project captures the characterful, tight-knit group challenging outdated perceptions around the sport.
“I felt a responsibility to approach the group with empathy and care. I spent time getting to know them, talking, hanging out, and building trust before lifting a camera. What followed were moments of openness and friendship, and photographs that I hope reflect the honesty and joy of a community creating space for itself on its own terms.”
